Given the massive numbers of planets we’ve found around other stars already with our puny Earth science, the sheer will and determination of life to develop and thrive even under extremely harsh conditions, it would be silly not to think that intelligent life has developed out there. What most people do not understand are two critical points when they ask why we don’t have good proof of them visiting us. First (to paraphrase Douglas Adams) ‘Space is big, really really big, you just don’t know how mind boggling big it is.’ It would take enormous resources and development to travel to stars not in your immediate vicinity. So unless an intelligent species developed next door to us, it is unlikely we would ever be visited by one. Secondly any species who has their act so together as to manage the enormous task of extended inter stellar space travel would have to be socially advanced to the point they would not waste their resources on stupid stuff. And if you haven’t been in a cave all your life, you would seriously have to ask, why would any race so advanced want to have anything at all to do with us? All any passerby of our solar system has to do is tune into our TV broadcasts and they would know this one thing: We’re a bunch of fuck ups. And so there they go, off into the serenity of space, wisely leaving us behind to deal with our own fool selves.
I agree with both of you but I do think that we offer these “intelligent” beings something. We taste pretty good roasted, marinated, or any way they would like us. We can be their cattle as long as they do not anal probe me, don’t think I could get into that well maybe if “she” was cute but that is a different forum I think.
Am I the only one who has no sense of perspective on the Xornon?
Since the sky is negative, either this isn’t our universe (a distinct possibility since this whole CB strip is from another f”n planet anyway), or a JY cheat now leaves me wondering whether that is some Zardozesque head on the horizon, is it the head of a huge being that comes above the horizon, or are they laying on the chest of a Xornon looking at the sky?

Stupid Xornons.
Good lord, that Xornon almost has as many teeth as Donny Osmond.
