Hmmm. I’m not sure who those two doctors are in the first panel, but their hair makes them look like the Lockhorns. It couldn’t be… could it? They look so… happy.
@Catya: well if Rex Morgan got transformed into T-Rex Morgan, I guess Liz has become Liz the Lizard LOL
Yes, the return of Dogwood 🙂
There’s only one “bang-bang” I see Chuck being interested in, and if Pattie and Marcie are there, it’s gonna be a “bang-bang-bang-bang” I’d think 😉
Baby Huey/Marvin, OMG!
My Lord JY, who art in Rochester, is there any part of the comic stripiverse you aren’t going to sodomize within of an inch of it’s life to continue this madness?
Oh, JY, not another April Fool’s strip this year, deal? As it seems with DF#4 constantly delaying WB’s progress that this saga is going to be dragged out even longer than any of us Blockheads would like (tho we all know you don’t care LOL) and we won’t see the UltraMegaton Pack (APS, WB:BW#1-3) until fall, and the collected edition for another year….It isn’t that DF#4 isn’t important, but like with Stephen King and The Dark Tower series after his near-death experience, we BH’s want this done before anything else! 🙂
The man with the ears I believe to be the pediatrician from the Marvin comic strips, and the lady beside him might be Marvin’s mother. However, I thought the doctor had a full head of hair instead of a horseshoe… but then again I haven’t seen that strip in over two decades.

Poor Annie fails to realize that our beloved and beleaguered blockhead is the scariest thing there at the moment and he hasn’t even started eviscerating random mooks yet.
Ding ding ding! You might be right about the hair, though. I couldn’t find any reference for “Dr. Twitt”. If anyone can find a strip with him in it, send me a link.
Yes, turns out Google has made all the text, including most comic strip dialog, in their scanned news papers searchable. So I just did a Google on Marvin + “Dr. Twitt” and Hey Presto, there it was!
Panel #3 is bay far one of my favorites to date. You see Anne with that smug look on her face, and behind her Chuck looking stright through her with his cold eyes.
@Nightraven: Thank you, you have now opened the flood gate for anybody who wants to figure out JY’s
abstruse references….and for anyone who wants to start annotating the WB Omnibus, due Spring ’11 and rumored to be the third Mayan prediction on the way to 2012….have a nice day 🙂
Hell I hate to even bring this up, but does Hughie X wear pants?
In that first panel it looks like he has a belt going between his legs.

@Punx
Actually in the original Garfield, when Jon asks for Liz’s name, he assumes its short for Elizabeth. She corrects him saying it was actually short for Lizard.
@Juanski: Pretty sure he wears pants. Look at the difference between Anne’s knees (which are bare, and indicated by smooth lines) and Hughie’s. Hughie’s knees are drawn with the same type of line+hatching that Chuck’s chest muscles (which are under his shirt, obviously).
Nothing says he /doesn’t/ have a belt going between his legs, but I really don’t think that’s /all/ he’s wearing there. He ain’t Dogwood, after all!
Captcha seems to be talking about Chuck tonight: “downtown sourpuss”
Huh? Since when is Newt Gingrich a comic strip chara- Oh, Marvin. Never mind…
Chuck is looking just the right degree of… *nettled* in the last panel. The Peanuts version of him would have a balloon full of black cross-hatch above his head. It must really be getting on his nerves, too, the way Anne keeps blithely refusing to be intimidated by him. Casually deflecting all of his bully-speak, walking along with her back to him, *baby-talking* him, for chrissake, even while apparently about to return his weapon to him. She’s a real leader, and he’s not used to being led.
only one!
Nooooo!
I’ll savor… and see you Monday at 12:01 am.
Okay, I recognize Marvin and Liz, but who’s that with the rabbit ears? And the woman with him?
BTW, I love the way Anne keeps needling Chuck. “You must want your bang-bang back”; beautiful.
— Captcha is into waxing: furbelow prevented.
Heheh. That face. Dagwood knows that what Snoop did to him is peanuts compared to what Chuck could do if he crosses him.
Is that Liz from Garfield?
Hmmm. I’m not sure who those two doctors are in the first panel, but their hair makes them look like the Lockhorns. It couldn’t be… could it? They look so… happy.

Thanks for that! How did you find that so quickly? Is the comic text on that page searchable somehow?

Humina humina. Canty wait for Deep Fried #4 special Weapon Brown fan appreciation edition. Go lil JY go. Do you donty? Or donty you donty. <3.
The Blondie strip on the page that Nightraven linked to is strangely apt for what happened to the mailman on Weapon Brown page 118.
